You are invited to an Uptown Church camping trip from Friday, July 20 to Sunday, July 22.
If you haven't attended Uptown's annual camping trip at Hazelmere before, you should talk to someone who has! The grounds are magnificently beautiful, and the group site is a secluded area of rolling green hills large enough to accomodate our entire church! The group site also includes a large firepit and a common eating area with BBQ, refrigerator, and plenty of picnic tables. In addition to the group site, we also have access to a swimming pool which is a highlight for the children.
On Sunday, July 22, our regular church service will be held on the group site at Hazelmere Campground (not at our usual meeting place at White Rock Elementary). A church potluck picnic will follow the service and EVERYONE is welcome to attend the service and picnic (not just the Uptown campers).
There is NO CHARGE for this camping event; however, if you decide to camp, you will need to bring your own camping gear and food.
There will be a Saturday morning prayer time (8 am) to lift up the future of the Uptown Ministry Team. There will be a few family games for the Competitive ones mid-morning and the annual Talent Show on Saturday Night). You will be asked during the FREE registration process if you will be taking part in any of these OR the potluck (Sausages provided by Stapleton Sausage and some smokies and hot dogs for those with less sophisticated taste buds - j/k).
When you sign up, remember the people who have been there ALL WEEK taking care of the 100 Art Campers and 40ish Youth Campers and offer to help clean up, either by taking down tents, picking up the grounds, or simply wiping down the picnic tables and folding the table cloths.
