The hope is to see groups of students taking steps of faith on every campus come the new year! And we’re discovering that the more leaders that communicate with each other (or are simply aware of what’s happening) the more momentum campuses have. There are two key ideas driving this vision to see students takes step of faith on campus:
There needs to be an actual plan. Our hope is not in the plan, but having a practical strategy for campus-focused mission gives a context for obedience & creates huge potential for teamwork between students from different churches. What happened last year wasn’t perfect but if definitely showed signs of hope.
There is no plan without leader unity. It’s laughable to think that Chapel (or any one ministry) could decide how the whole city is mobilizing students. This is why the local Hubs of youth pastors in each suburb that are in close relationship are the driving force of the mission. This conference is simply a gathering of those hubs and their students.
The “wins” for this conference are that students would feel encouraged spiritually, equipped practically & empowered logistically to live on mission with Jesus. And secondly, that every leader in attendance would be resourced relationally to help every single one of their students to takes step of faith in their everyday life.
